A drop is just dropping the ball. When you let go of a ball the momentum you had when moving with it previously is kept so it keeps moving in that direction.

This is less useful when doing things such as scoring but can be useful for things such as ball clearing on flat maps if you want to get balls out of a location after gaining control of it.

This can combo into every other tech that gives speed to instead launch the ball instead of moving with the ball. Due to it applying to everything the individual techs are not listed unless it is a special case or not immediately obvious. Here is a list of all those special cases:
