About

The Duck Pinch is executed by pinching the ball with the ground using Ladybug's on and off ball abilities. It is one of the game's most consistent and easiest pinches to perform. Ladybug's unique on and off ball abilities allow it to consistently place itself in the perfect position for a powerful pinch without requiring the same aerial setup as most other pinches.

Execution

The pinch works best on flat terrain and is performed by positioning yourself directly on top of the ball using Ladybug's on ball ability and immediately clicking the grab button, which will release the ball while you are still positioned on top of it. As soon as the ball is released, angle your camera downward and immediately tap your off ball ability. It is important to have some momentum in the direction you want the pinch to travel, otherwise the ball may fly off in a random direction.

The pinch travels forward because, during the split second between releasing the ball and using your off ball ability, the ball rolls slightly forward. This places Ladybug slightly behind the center of the ball, causing it to pinch forwards.

Step By Step

  • Move forwards whilst in possession of the ball
  • Angle your camera downwards
  • Click your on ball ability
  • Release the ball
  • Off ball ability downwards

Falling for roughly 1.5 seconds before performing the pinch will increase its power, if your off ball ability connects with the ball as it hits the ground meaning you will need to start the steps to pinching the ball before it hits the ground. However, beyond this point, additional fall time adds little to no extra power.

Use Cases And Extra Info

Once you are facing the correct direction while in possession of the ball, it helps to angle your camera downward beforehand as you will not have to move your mouse as far while performing the pinch. The angle at which you use your off ball ability affects the speed of the pinch. Facing your camera straight downward will create a very powerful pinch, while the more forward your camera faces, the weaker the pinch will be.

This can be useful because the Duck Pinch can launch the ball faster and with more power than a normal fully charged shot. When mastered, this makes it extremely useful when you have a clear shot at goal with your opponent behind you, allowing you to get the ball into the net as quickly as possible. It can also be used to catch opponents off guard with its power and quick execution.
