A pinch involves having a ball beside a surface and then ramming into it to then shoot it off in some direction. This can be done against any kind of surface but the easiest to aim without learning exact ball pathings at specific locations are ground pinches.

Ground Pinch

A ground pinch has the ball on the floor and then you diving into the ball from the sky to shoot it (usually) forward. This can end up shooting the ball faster than a regular shot on the net but takes time to set up and is a bit hard to aim. Due to this it is rarely seen in high level play due to giving the opponent way too much time to contest but can be pulled off if someone has no other beetles near them or the opponents are not good at contesting plays.

One some maps ground pinches can be done from many locations (with the easiest to aim being closer to the net) but there are also exact pinching spots that could be learned to fire a ball directly into the net from that location far away from the net.

Advanced Ground Pinches

Some beetles have advanced forms of ground pinches using their abilities in order to make the pinch easier or to make the ball shoot faster. The following are all known advanced ones:

Wall Pinch

A wall pinch involves the ball beside a wall and then you gliding into it to shoot the ball to the side. This is a much rarer form of a pinch due to it only being effective on certain locations but can be done to shoot the ball far away in a direction if you want the ball to go to the opposite side of the field.

Advanced Wall Pinches

Similar to ground pinches, some beetles have advanced forms of wall pinches to make the pinch easier or make the ball shoot faster (or both.) The following are all known advanced ones:
