Regrab
TechGrabbing the ball right after an opponent
A regrab involves grabbing the ball right after the opponent gains control of it. For example if you shoot on a net and the opponent grabs the ball from your shot, walking up and grabbing the ball from them would be a regrab.
Grabbing has a cooldown of 1 second that starts once you lose control of the ball. Due to this if somebody grabs the ball from you you cannot grab back to retaliate unless you wait awhile. This makes regrabs extremely effective at gaining ball control and getting a headstart on movement over enemies when paired with a Headbutt Grab.
Grab Waiting
When two beetles are both moving towards a ball, instead of instantly grabbing it you can wait for the opponent to grab it first. This lets you regrab from them which guarantees you much more control over the ball.
This is typically most commonly done at the start of a round when the balls are static at the center of the field but can be done anytime two people are contesting for the same ball and none of them have grabbed it yet.
Offensive Regrabs
When shooting on a net, you can heavily punish any defender that does not use headbutts to defend by regrabbing the ball away from them when they grab it. It is extremely hard to stop a regrab at that point as you end up moving past the defender. It is also possible to grab a ball that has been headbutted but that can be punished by the defender using a regrab as their grab did not go on cooldown yet.
